When Caleb wasn’t getting better, he knew it was time to seek medical care.
“I was extremely nauseous and dehydrated and just couldn’t keep anything down,” he said. “I needed to get actual treatment and made the decision to go to the McPherson ER.”
From the moment he arrived, Caleb’s experience was reassuring.
“It took less than two minutes to be seen,” he recalled.
The emergency department team focused on finding the cause of his symptoms rather than making assumptions.
“They really just wanted to get to the root of my problems versus any preconceived notions that they might have had. They immediately got to work on fixing that diagnosis.”
Within a couple of hours, Caleb was feeling much better and was able to return home.
For Caleb, the experience was about more than receiving timely medical care. Growing up in McPherson meant he recognized members of the care team, adding an extra level of comfort during a stressful situation.
“It was very comforting knowing the nurse, Dalyn, and growing up around him, as well as knowing about the doctor who was taking care of me. It really added to the comfort in my care.”
When asked what he would tell others about his experience, Caleb didn’t hesitate.
“I would recommend anyone go to McPherson Hospital and ER because they get a small-town feel with a determined and focused team behind the work.”
