Labor and Delivery
Rest assured, your doctor will be informed of your arrival and will typically visit you soon after you’re admitted. Although your doctor may not be with you for the entire labor, they are kept updated through phone calls about any changes or concerns. If your baby has a separate physician, they will be notified immediately after your baby’s birth to ensure seamless care for your newborn.
Comfortable Rooms
Two labor rooms with advanced monitoring, private bathrooms, and comfortable seating for support persons.
We understand the importance of having your loved ones with you during labor. While we strive to accommodate your support network, there may be times when we need to limit visitors at your bedside for your safety and comfort. During delivery, you can have up to two support people with you, if you wish.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm – 10:00 am and 2:00pm – 4:00pm. This is a time that allows our patients to rest as well as prepare for going home. Visitors are asked to choose a different time to visit.
Personalized Care
A specifically trained labor & delivery nurse will be assigned to you and your baby, ensuring consistent care and education. We maintain a 2:1 nurse to patient ratio.
Our nurses and staff hold certifications through:
- American Heart Association Neonatal Resuscitation Program
- Association for Women’s Health and Neonatal Nursing Fetal Monitoring Program
- High 5 for Mom and Baby Designation
- CMS Birthing Friendly Designation
- Participation in ongoing Perinatal Quality Initiatives through Kansas Department of Health and Education – Fourth Trimester Initiative
